Lady Parsons Finish Second at Snead State Fall Invitational
The Snead State Community College Women's Golf Team secured a second-place finish out of 13 teams at the Snead State Fall Invitational, held at Cherokee Ridge Country Club on Oct. 1.
The Snead State Community College Women's Golf Team secured a second-place finish out of 13 teams at the Snead State Fall Invitational, held at Cherokee Ridge Country Club on Oct. 1.
Sophomore Ashley Nelson led the team with an impressive performance, finishing 5th overall and earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Freshman standout Kyleigh Gibson followed closely behind, securing 7th place out of a competitive field of 63 golfers.
Head Women's Golf Coach Shane Marshall praised the team's effort and dedication, while also expressing his gratitude to the support staff.
"I'm extremely proud of how our girls performed at the tournament," said Coach Marshall. "Ashley and Kyleigh played outstanding rounds, and the entire team showed grit and determination. I'd like to give a special thanks to Coach Jacob Hyde for the strength and conditioning work, and to our new assistant coach, Joe Hedgepeth, for the support he's provided."
In addition to Nelson and Gibson's standout finishes, team members Rachel Gattis and Marlee Hedgepeth also contributed to the Lady Parsons' strong showing at Cherokee Ridge.
The next tournament on the team's fall schedule is the Roane State Atomic City Classic on Oct. 21-22 in Oak Ridge Tennessee.
